it goes on weight, if you decide to keep whole gutted fish then that also counts, obviously it is alot more efficient to have fillets instead of a mixture of fillets, wings and whole fish

the rules say "fillets of fish" as the possession limit. And this ties in with when I got checked over by Fisheries after an island trip.

I had all our fish heads kept for cray/crab bait and he was quite clear that these DID NOT count towards our possession limits, even though they seized our fillets and then returned them next day on another matter.

So I guess if you separate the wings its ok but attached not?

Try ringing them, or Im pretty sure you will bump into them there?

Applys in regards to the Abrolhos 10kg possesion limit but not your maximum possesion limit. That includes heads backbone and wings.

Finfish possession limits

(FRMA S51, FRMR Part 4, Division 3)

A finfish possession limit is the maximum quantity of finfish –

either whole or in pieces – that you may have in your possession

(control/ownership) in WA.
