Fishing Coral Bay

Gday, I just wanted to get some thoughts on shore based fishing in Coral Bay. I am going up there, although not for a few months yet and am keen to give the SP's a go on the flats, and any other suitable lure. I have heard that Thread fin Salmon can be caught of the beach in the Point Maud area (Not sure about that, didn't think they would be so far south?) Any advice Re lures/species would be much appreciated.

Cheers Laughing

I think the threadfin may be striped threadfin which arent as large or as tasty as their commonly known cousins up north, the king threadfin.

Different types of threadfin, your probably thinking of giant threadfin as they are more north typically.  We get a heap of bluenose threaddies in the Exmouth creeks and there are just standard threadies along the beaches.  Try put in a search for Coral Bay - theres been heaps of these threads and some pretty valuable info over the years (stories of success and general info)

I did spend some time near the five finger reef one day/afternoon. Saw plenty of large spanglies, couldn't get one of them to feed though Yell so I will be looking down there again and along the beaches. Thanks again
