Fishing Dampier / Karratha area
Hello all. I was wondering if anyone could help me out. I am moving to dampier for work and will be living there. I am towing my 7m noble boat with me and the road trip starts this saturday the 12th of October. My father is taking two weeks off work to help me tow my boat over and to spend some time with me in dampier and I was hoping that there would be someone who would like to share a couple of off shore fishing spots at all. My dad is a keen fisherman and it would make his holiday if he could catch something to brag about when he flies back home to QLD. I know I am only new to this website but if anyone could help me out and point me in the right direction that would be awesome as I would love to see my father get that fish of a lifetime while over in dampier. Thanks everyone and I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Ash
Hi Ash,
Try around the pipeline as a start. There are heaps of islands to keep you entertained and exploring with plenty of good fish around them in the shallows.
Keep an eye on your tides getting out and in, can't remember the public ramp low, but I'd be trying to get in before it gets under 1m.
Lots of really good sportsfishing around as well if you are into that. Keep an eye open for boats on the pipeline, still a few sails and marlin about but things are starting to warm up and its coming into barra season.
Good luck, takes a while to suss the place out.

If you have a gps with map it
If you have a gps with map it is easy. Just head out towards stag or wandoo and use your sounder to explore the "contour lines"
