Fishing Leeman and Greenhead

Thinking of doing a long weekend run up to Greenhead and was wondering if anyone knew what the dhuie fishing is like up that way and how safe the boating is regarding reefs, passges and swells ect. Have a good chart plotter on board a 5.2m savage. Also, is the caravan park worth staying at in Greenhead?

Can't tell you about Greenhead CP

Greenhead has excellent launch/retrieve ramps & plenty of parking.  We've never launched from there.

Leeman is our base and have on-site van there fishing is excellent in round about the 40 meter mark then head out to the bank, good fishing there.  Pretty easy to get out from Leeman you've got the north passage (green marker) and the south passage (red bouy) bit tricky when there's a swell running (crayboats use north passage swellie)

Go into WA Boat launching Spots to right of screen, scroll down and Adam has put Town Ramp (summer time no weed) & Sea Rescue Ramp up for me, so you can see ramps.  Should be just sand photos were taken in early Oct, if low tide better to launch at Sea Rescue ramp, but be careful to the left of ramp some rocks even on high tide, our leg on the motor is long, so if you leg is shorter high tide you should be right.

Hope that helps.  The Leeman caravan park is very basic, plenty of shade, plenty of dust with the southerlies blow.

Boppo hope this helps ... Roberta pm me if you want to know more.
