I haven't heard any recent reports Boppo, but if the big ones are hanging around Leeman there should still be some at Wedge Point.

haven't been doing much beach fishing of late but have got the urge again. Been doing a fair bit out of the boat but I like the feel of sand between the toes. Be good to take the girlfriend up and show her a weekend on the beach.
Pretty much anywhere along wedge will turn up tailor. Dide Bay (South) on the way to wedge is a great spot for large tailor. Have caught some very big greenbacks there this time of year. Even better when its a full moon.
I've also had success further north at wedge at a common spot for some of the locals. All i can remember of the position is that we drove north along the beach past the shacks, to where the open sand dunes are kept going north for a few km's. There is a small sign in the sand dune. Fish about 500m to the right of it.
Water is shallow but you'll get alot of action there because of a rip that churns up the bottom of the surf. Have seen catches of Large tailor (compared to metro) Soapie mulloway at dusk, shovelnose sharks, large swallowtail dart also, aswell as all the usual bread and butter fish.

Try south rock
South of wedge island usally good for tailor, skippy and herring ect
its a reefy area were you can wade out about waste deep to get the extra casting distance.
hope this helps and the beach should be pretty good....

Thanks to all for the pointers,
benny bopster
they certainly should come in handy as I am keen as mustard to get into some decent chopper fishing again.
