Hi Gang,
Fishwrecked.com is coming up to its 10th birthday in the coming month and being WA's largest fishing website and one of Australia's largest, I am looking to do some give aways and have offered a 10 year special on advertising rates to get some fresh advertisers in the door to offer you guys better service, products, discounts and giveaways.
Hopefully there will be some more announcements in the next few weeks and if any of you have any thoughts for competitions, donations or advertisers I am happy to hear them to make it a 10th birthday to remember!

Email notifications as an option would be a great addition-perhaps for "members" who are charged a small fee that also allows you to hold the identities of those members (still use a non de plume) but a logo under their member name which could help distinguish non dodgy sellers also?

what do you think would be a fair fee? I have an idea of how to do it to verify a user, will take a bit of effort but could make buy/sell less risky.

Old faces
There are still a lot of the old faces, like mine, that still show up and heaps of new ones who keep adding to the wealth of knowledge, and sometimes bullshit, this great site has to offer.
Some very memorable threads have come about that everyone remembers for all the wrong reasons, like the one about fishing in a 4 metre dinghy in a force ten gale, not going to name and shame them but we ALL know who they are.

The longevity of the site is a credit to Adam and the users, both old and new.

What do you all think about removing the pic of month and replacing with something like post of year. Ideas?
On the plus side i am one of the many that have grown in knowledge because of this site. All the best for the future and can only hope I contribute to someone else's growth

We had some good laughs and always drank too much. The fish we all caught were always "This Big!"

Just a "Put it out there" idea: Fishwrecked CATCH and COOK Fishing-10th Birthday Bash.
Make it a short morning Fish Session- Bring what your caught and cook it up for a combined lunch/get together.
Doesn't matter what you caught- Fish/Squid.
Somewhere with some outdoor b/cue's and plenty of parking for car and trailer/boat - where ever that may be?

Been a great read/laugh/entertainment and gained heaps off knowledge, despite thinking as a old fart I knew heaps.
You can never learn enough and the new techniques that have emerged I would have known nothing about if it wasnt for this site.

Thanks Adam and every one else involved in the site, I watched the site for a 2 years before i joined ( mainly due to never owning a computer before that ) And this was the the first forum I joined. Since then i have a only joined one other forum( international) because compaired to this site they all suck. (seriously, check out some of the F/B pages )

There's just about every aspect of fishing on here and someone usually knows the answer to the obscure.

Birthday tomorrow, 10 years of some crazy fun times, some crazy fun stories, meeting some bloody awesome blokes and some not so much. Jeez there was some history in the early days, the mid days and even the latest days. If only I had $10 for the amount of times I've been threatened to be sued over the years for members name and shames!! LOL.

As other have said the best fishing site in Australia (from a South Aussie). The knowledge and help you get from other fisho's on here is fantastic.
Cover's everything from fishing in the north to down south and even extends O/S.
Other thing that makes this site great is the banter that is not over censored however somehow rarely gets out of hand.
Lots of Kudos and thanks to Adam and the others behind the site who give their time and contribute so much.
