It's a girl! Little Maia was born on monday and she's already asking to be taken out fishing! :) So 2 little girls it is for me, thanks for the well wishes for a boy that a few of you gave but it just wasn't meant to be. I'm very happy to have a healthy beautiful little girl though!

Well done mate. Must be scary to be outnumbered, but its great that all went well.
Looks like you might have to go with a comfortable cruiser boat for all the girls - just make sure it has enough room for the cot.

Don't worry the girls love fishing just as much as the blokes. In fact my two girls often outfish their dad.

Thanks guys! Her name is pronouced "My-er"... for some reason we've had a lot of people confused about it but we didn't think it would pronouced any other way, but that could be cos we know another Maia ourselves.
I'm definately out numbered now. Already there's been talk of buying a "cruiser" boat instead of a fishing boat... but I've made my mind up that it will be more of a fishing boat as I still have to be able to take a mate or 2 (or fishwreckeder) out for a fish without the girls too. I doubt we'll be doing too many overnighters till they are a bit older anyway.. maybe then an upgrade.
A few people have mentioned the fit and healthy guy produces girl offspring... I shoulda let myself go before this one.. haha.. nah no regrets!
So whens the next Fishwrecked Parents and Daughters fishing comp?

nah , just get them used to the smell of fish and then there wont be any complaints, either that or teach them how to wash your boat down after each trip weather their on it or not

Coming from a family full of females (except for me and the dog and he's been de-nutted
)... We have two daughters and one hates boats/fishing and the older one will not let us go out without her even at 26 years old and not living at home. Now she is pregnant I am hoping for a little "Grandad's fishing partner" be it grandson or grandaughter... Who cares as long as she/he is healthy.
