At least to guidlford bridge
At least to guidlford bridge in the swan, but much more prevalent around the lower swan. Most people believe this rain will flush them down past the causeway and beyond but I have seen stragglers caught around Maylands after the winter rains.
I have found it much harder to find good numbers for the past month or so.

There are always flatties in the river, and you tend to pick up the bigger ones in winter but they are way less common.
summer is the way to go, a lot more of them. right now i'd be looking around east freo area for them, but in summer i usually fish near my henry bridge

there is even
more of em over here in the east.....and most you can keep unlike w.a where they are too small majority of the time...... 60 -70 cm is an average size over here with quite a few goin the 1m mark....awesome tussle with very light gear and a strong leader.......

same as anywhere
with bait or lures....and yes they are caught on the flats but the bigger ones seem to like deeper drop offs......especially on a run out tide
