Long time
Was going for the Pies long before the Eagles came along and wouldn't support them in a fit. Got too much handed to them on a plate compared to the Dockers.
The only mullet I've seen have had scales on them and came from a net and make top bait and I drive a Landcruiser recovery vehicle.

Sounds like your not the run
Sounds like your not the run of the mill pie supporter then. But disagree with the Eagles having too much handed to them on a plate. They just recruited well and had good management to win their flags. You've only got to look at your current coach

Still on 16. Bit disappointing, thought the NAB cup would have fired up some punters.

Hey Meersy
what do you mean this season, how about the last several seasons - it seems that the pies supporters just accept this as the staus quo now. They would be severely under achieving if they didn't do well. I've said before the city circle tram in Melbourne travels further than the pies.

Blame
Blame the AFL don't blame Collingwood. They are the biggest money earner of all the teams so why not put them in to venues where you can receive the biggest amount. Why play 2 games a season at Subi oval for a total of 80 thousand when they can do that in one go at the MCG, speaks for itself doesn't it.

Sure its a good money grab
Sure its a good money grab but its still grossly unfair for other teams. Travelling takes a lot out of the teams.
You don't see Manchester united having every game at Old Trafford because they can get a good crowd do you?

Teams
When there are 8 teams located in Melbourne you would expect the Pie to be playing one of them every second week or so plus home games so its either the Mcg or the what ever name the stadium is now.
Another little bit of info has just come to my knowledge that Collingwood now has 61,000 paid up members with half of last years members still to renew theirs, something the other teams could only dream about.

My question is
why wouldn't you have that many members when they play most games in Melbourne - it's what you call value for money. So it's all relative and dosen't mean that the competition is fair in fixturing. Imagine the uproar and stink in Melbourne if the eagles and Dockers had continual favourable draws at Subi. Anyway - lets hope Bucks dosent become another Vossy hey, will be interesting.

You got some bum drum
there Carnarvonite - at this point in time - I think your the one dreaming about 61000 paid up members with half of lasts years still to sign.

Only
Only 53244 at this stage, but the season is still 5 weeks away. 70K is the target.
C'mon Paully, what's $30 to go in the tipping comp. You don't have to tip the Eagles every week mate, tipping is different to supporting.

Despite that, it still took 20 years to win a premiership. Here is hoping we have another 20 years to wait to hear the sound of gum on gum again.

Gotta look forward Cammos, not behind you. I mean I'd hate to continually think back to previous sexual encounters, knowing the years ahead will be done dry.
At the moment I'm still in the 'afterglow', but that will change when 2011 starts.

Hahaha! Cammos makes a good point!
You guys can argue that we are in the future and that you have tons of fans and make the AFL lots of moolah...
But at the end of the day you guys get WAY too many games in your own backyard and it still took you 20 years to win a premiership!!
...Oh, and all your supporters are rednecks

OHHHHHH
This has cut me to the quick:
"...Oh, and all your supporters are rednecks"
LOL
When all's said and done, premierships aren't easy to win and the AFL has mechanisms in place to share the love over all 16 (now 17) teams. Just ask the Bullies, Saints, Dockers, Demons and Tigers.
Very happy to have finally got one last year, hoping for another crack at one this year.

In reality, no team will be
In reality, no team will be able to touch the Pies this year. They will not get out of 3rd gear by round 22 (is it still 22 rounds?) and win the cup at a canter.
I am off to slit my wrists now.......................
