Fremantle mooring

Hi all

Very new to boating but been out on the swan river a few times and was thinking of going into Freo and just wondered if anybody have any info on mooring up in freo (so the misses can shop, HAPPY WIFE HAPPY LIFE). Are there any public places to moor up.

Oh can anyone tell me what fish I caught in the picture

Cheers

Dave

Western King Wrasse - Coris auricularis

Wed, 2010-08-11 12:07

Male Western King Wrasse are deep pink/red in colour with a wide cream vertical stripe running halfway up the body behind the pectoral fin.  Adult females are cream to red with a red horizontal stripe extending through the eye to the base of the tail.

Western King Wrasse grow to 40cms in length.

They are poor eating quality.

In Australia, Western King Wrasse are found from Coral Bay, south to the Recherche Archipelago Esperance in Western Australia.

Poor eating quality? I thought they were supposed to be reasonable. Just lots of fiddly bones and usually small fillets.

buy some chips from kalis and they will let you park outside their shop. max 2 hours from memory.  might have to stay with it whilst the ms's goes shopping as security isnt the best.

Dhu bait

Fri, 2011-03-25 20:44

Dave i think they are not bad to eat.

I use one for bait and chuck a couple on ice. If ya don't catch anything better, then eat them.

Put on a fillet for bait in late Dec 2010 and this is what i ended up taking home.

Mindaries 30m on the flat coral mate.

Pretty mutch do all my fishing there. Got it on a filet or fresh wrasse.

The day before i caught the Baldie from my first post on the same bait but on the whiting rig.

Got to love fresh wrasse as bait it always performs and if not eat it. Its white, fine ,and tasty..
