fresh water cobbler

I have discovered a dam on a mates farm that has cobbler in it! heard theyre pretty good eating so thought we might have a crack at some.
anyone have any tips on chasing them? they go for bait or soft plastics?

Did you hear that fresh water cobbler are good eating?I know salt water ones are but not to sure about the freshies.
We used to get them as kids worm fishing for trout.

same as choc i think the fresh water ones can taste like earthy but best bait would be bugs earth worms stuff like that

well my mate seems to think
well my mate seems to think theyre pretty good eating. the dam is pretty clean cos it has a bore that pumps into it so the water has a good turn around.
yeah i though earth worms might be the go...il do dig some up and try them. also give bread a whirl. cheers fellas.
i went out and tried river prawns but didnt have any luck - i may have just been fishing at the wrong time!
i heard they are attracted to light too. thought what i might do is go rig up a floody and shine it on a spot on the bank and see if that draws them in at all...
i will let you know what gives me the best luck - spose thast way in the future when people do a search they will get some info from this post!

Worms have always worked best
Worms have always worked best for me, with a small sinker and fairly small hooks, and ive only ever caught them at night, seen a few in daylight but never caught them, they tend to feed more at night im pretty sure
