Fuel Injectors

After having a cylinder down on one of my Yamaha 115 4-stroke and finally putting it down to a blocked fuel injector I was told by a boat sales and service shop NOR that they are a throw away item and to replace it. $295 for one!! I whipped them out and took them to an injection shop, $40 bucks a pop to get cleaned, picked 'em up the next day and now my boat runs like a dream. In fact since I got all four done I now have heaps more grunt in that starboard motor so I am going to get the port motor done now.
My point is...don't take all advice from boat places as gospel. Do some research yourself and you will save loads of cash.

What injection shop mate?
What injection shop mate? Would be keen to looking at getting mine done. How many hours had your motor done when the problems started?

had the same thing
on one of my 115 yammys ,was constantly sticking and blocking up was quoted by yammy here nearly 300 for a new one ,priced them from US and could get a full set for the same price , but ended up just watchin a you tube video on cleaning in jectors with carby clean and a couple of syringes and that worked fine ,ran heaps better for a while then started to play up again so i pulled them back out and stuck them in a ultrasonic cleaner that i have at work for cleaning pc boards and have not had a problem since ,theres a few places online that do the ultrasonic cleaning for $10.00 each plus postage

they put them on a machine for about three hours. I'm sure there are others that do it though. Not too sure the hours on the Yammie but a 2007 model.

I thought the replaceable
I thought the replaceable item bullshit for injectors was only for etech, sounds like someone wants to make better money out of yammy service!
