Fuel tank material

I'm halfway down the road of refurbish on a 28 ft Bruce Harris Shark Cat ( don't do it I tell you !!! ) . One of the fuel tanks is slightly munted and there's a shit awful smell of fuel in the tank cavity , no visible fuel , yet an ungodly stench . I've decided to rip up the back deck and install some new tanks . Stainless or ally is the big question . There's a pair or 360 litre stainless ones in there at the moment and they've done the job for the last 32 years . Is it worth the extra loot for stainless or should I go down the ally rd ?
Andy , your two cents will be appreciated !

Mate if me I'd go ali, you
Mate if me I'd go ali, you can use a thicker gauge material and it's more forgiving than stainless. I repair a lot of stainless inhibitor tanlks for my client due to vibration cracks. Just my opinion

Will do
Epoxy coming will be good as the tank will be glassed in . Yep , being in Carnarvon it's my floating Shark Bay caravan . Setting her up to be able to head out for a week at a time , lots of fuel and lots of water she's going to be a weapon me thinks ! .

A little too fat for a trailer
Only time it's been on a trailer was when we trucked her up , she lives in a pen . Fully loaded we're nudging five tons. There's a pair of 175 supercharged Verados on the back , plenty of power . On a good day she'll do 30 kts but she's drinking 160 litres per hour !. Dial it back to 20 kts and we're looking at about 45 litres per hour combined . It will do that all day every day any sea any time . Keeps me happy

Super comfy
The best thing is it's a flybridge boat , everything is upstairs ( single controls up the top ) . Pretty hard to get a wet ass up there . Cruising is around 3000-4000 rpm . I'd rather kick back , relax and take it easy and enjoy the ride than drive like a crazy fucker and beat myself and the boat up . Maybe it's something to do with getting slight older and a lot more wiser ! .
