Gaff for E-Shed

Hi guys, what length gaff do I need for E-Shed? Will a 2.5m gaff do?
I am a terrible judge of distance, and size, especially when it comes to the fish I catch!
Thanks

From memory its a bit further than 2.5m down to the water. Maybe get one of the rope gaffs that u attach to your line. Its got a hook setup like the game machines you find in shops where you try to snag plush toys or lunchbox chocolates
Good things come to those who bait.

Hi, thanks for the response. I made one.
I bought a long telesopic paint stick at bunnings and a short gaff at bcf. I cut the pipe off the gaff and attached it to paint stick. I now have a long, and very long gaff. Just need a fish!

Thought about using the painting extension poles but wasn't confident about the strength of the joins. Proper fishing gaffs are screwed together whereas the painting poles are simply spring loaded. Thing is the heaviest at the end of a paint pole is the roller loaded with paint. If you are going to gaff a heavy fish the paint pole joints may not take it. If I'm wrong then I'll get one as it's certainly easier to put together.

you don't need a gaff at eshed, from memory there are little platforms you can climb down on, and walk along under the warf??
Fishing and catching are two different things. But i want to learn how to catch.
