Wagfa distribute them in WA. What do you want them for? Not really any point just whacking a tag in anything if there is not a research program in place for the data.
so what about the ones they DAILY put into marlin and sails from queensland all the way around to coral bay? every single charter operator above the 26th parallel would have gamefish tags, as well as quite a few recs. most "captures dont count until the fish is tagged.
understood if he wanted dhuie or snapper tags, but he did clearly state gamefish tags.
Not sure if you know but Gamefish tags are different to Billfish tags. I dont have too many spare Gamefish tags (just order them in for specific comps) but I could spare 15 or so Billie tags and cards no problems.
Most non WAGFA affiliated 'touch tags' as far as Im aware. I know we do. WAGFA is also actively trying to guide people away from tagging Trevally and other pelagics outside of affiliated comps.
Snapper and Dhu's are not recognised as a Gamefish. (except Spanglies)
A lot of charter guys use Billfish foundation tags instead of nsw fisheries tags. Just join up and it's easy to organize tags through a research group in Queensland. Most clubs would have limited supplies of nsw tags and Wagfa are pretty tight with the amount they supply.

The NSW Department of Primary Industries have a Game Fish Tagging Program. They sent me billfish tags without me being a member of a club.
