glossey muliti coloured pages in fishing magazines
Just got home with the latest edition of a west australian fishing magaziine and am i angry the editors of these things must be in their 40s-50s how do i know that.Because if you are older than that you have no bloody hope of reading the text in their magazines. When you are getting to your senior years one of the great things to look forward to is your eye sight is going to be not as good as it used to be (no I don't need a labrador dog yet) and despite having a good pair of reading glasses i'm damed if i can read some of the print on the glossy multi coloured pages some of these magazines use. I f they don't care about the senior section of the population just put a warning on the cover of the magazine for seniors and i'll save my money and buy a mag that i can read. And a few captions on the photos mightn't go astray (appologies if they are there it's just that i can't see them either.

Maybe could be worth emailing
Maybe could be worth emailing the magazine editor and letting him know about your concerns, who knows they may take it onboard?????

I found the same
about 5 years ago.... I was cursing the publishers for printing on glossy photos until I went out and got glasses! suddenly
the words jumped out at me and I didnt have a problem anymore....maybe your due for an eye check!

I can't stand
any magazine that puts red background with either yellow or black printing, hello how the hell can you read that. I'm also finding it hard, just had my right eye with new lens, cataract out and don't need glasses to drive or read but still can't read in any glossy magazine, let alone a fishing mag., Geezes old fart get me the magnifiing glass hahah Stopped buying a lot of mag's, for the that very reason.

You have a very valid point here & I've struggled with the same thing in parts of the latest issue of WAFM. I'm sure Ira would be happy to receive & take on board feedback, both positive & negative. You can put a post in the WAFM section of the bream master forum expressing your concerns, I'm sure your constructive criticism would be appreciated. If you don't receive any kind of response to that perhaps you can send a pm to Richo on the same site.

I too found this anoying and wrote to an editer and also fill out many of their serveys , but no joy and they continued to place text over photos and coloured backgrounds.
My answer was to stop buying the mag's and joined Fishwrecked, I havent bought one since. I get more info, up to date reports and better stories on here than out of any magazine that continualy repeats itself year after year.
Thanks Fishwrecked you have saved me spending all that coin on magazines , now i spend it on more fishing gear .
