Go Pro App

I've started using the go pro with a wifi bacpac via my i-phone.

Bloody brilliant, easy to preview, compose, record, delete etc. Works well, you dont need to be in a cell phone service area either.

Hero 2

Tue, 2012-11-06 21:02

I've got a hero 2 but had to order the wifi pacpac separate.

I've just ordered the hero 3 silver model, comes with built in wifi but not the wifi remote (I'll just use my phone). Bit smaller and lighter than the hero 2.

Tue, 2012-11-06 22:10

The black does full 1080p at 60fps for that nice slowdown in full HD. The others do 30fps at 1080. The black also does 120fps at 720p, so you could slow stuff down perfectly smoothly 4 times. The photos go at 30fps and for 3 seconds (which is what I want it for, makes it great for getting photos in the surf at just the right moment).

Also, keep in mind the black comes with a remote, but the others you need to purchase separately (or use the app).  Of course, all depends what you want it for. The gopro 3 silver is pretty much the same specs as the gopro 2 hd btw (just smaller casing and takes micro SD instead).

I think it applies to all of them, but there should be more options with choosing the distortion, so you can zoom in a bit more but still get full HD quality.

Tim - on a side note; use this program (free) to convert any footage/movie to MP4/iPhone/iPad compatible file. Been using it for years on apple system, to tranfer kids movies to iPad/iPhone, so they can watch in long road trips.

Hero 2

Tue, 2012-11-06 22:04

Got a Hero 2, 11MP (good enough for me), WiFi BacPac + Remote are on their way from US (didn't know that they sell them at JB HiFi), LCD BacPac, all mounting accessories. Also just got the iPhone 5, but not planning to use it with fishy hands, and end up dropping it overboard, so that's why I bought the Remote.

Just be careful as the list can go on ... so I'd go a bit cheaper on Camera, so you can spend more on accessories (which you will )

Got the 3 for the same price as BJ and then got the head cam and suction mounted fixed position.  Guess the next is to get a case for it and I suppose a new SD card too, or does it come with?

The gopro 1 and 2 used SD. The gopro 3's use microSD. Keep in mind you may need a minimum class for fullHD video (gopro says class 4 for the silver, but 10 for burst photos)

Great app. Just got myself a Hero 2. The accessories are endless.

Where does everyone buy their accessories from? Online or are their any good competitive stores locally?
