GoPro Kayak Camera 'Hi Mount' - Video Test

I want a 'high mount' camera mount to get as wide a wide a field of bview ss possible so i mocked up a mount just to see how it would look.

I made up this mount using some PVC pipe, a GoPro roll bar mount and two lengths of 100lb line to steady it up a bit.

I like the perspective it gives so i'm going to try and make something a bit more permanent.

Now just have to find something interesting to film.

@lachieH & trymyluck - thanks appreciate you watching.

@squidvicious1 - considering the GoPro doesn't have a polarising lens it still gives a pretty good view into the water. I'm always amazed at the number and variety of fish you see in shallow water. I saw something today that blew my mind, just working on the edit...

@beau - yep i want to build something to hang out the back of the boat - might be cool to get some shots from up high going out through the swells and reefs. Retic pipe is pretty cheap and with all the connectors and joiners to choose from you can get pretty creative. I've been out looking at this 'high mount' prototype and thinking, hey I could make this thing REALLY high... watch this space. What i really need mate is more goPro's.

GO-PRO HIGH MOUNT

Tue, 2014-12-02 11:45

hi all...i have just made my own high mount out of a broomstick and a piece of aluminium. cut broom down to 600 mm. then shape a piece of ally to fit the go-pro flat mount. then drill holes in centre of stick and ally. screw the ally to top of stick then file / gring head of screw until plastic mount sits flush / flat on top. apply plastic mount to ally and jobs done. bit of pvc tape around base of stick so it is snug in mast hole and no loose wobbles. works a treat !!! p.s. great video...thanks reddog.

cheers...rabbit...
