how many fisho's do you know that have that much cash sitting around.
lets hope someone with brains buys it, and not just a desire to make more money...

no chance of developemnt, as
no chance of developemnt, as it was given back to it's "orginal land owners" the first Australians.
You would need to work with in the new deed and land usage with the local tribe and also it looks like tourism only will be allowed.
Then again $1000 on say 11,000 shares and we got a company owned by fishermen, who can use the resource to our needs and develop it our way...think about it! I'd take 5 share for $5k as an investment in my access to the island in future.

read this first!
from the link:
"Creating the national park will open it up to tourists under carefully managed sustainable tourism arrangements," she said.
"It will also provide a pathway for the traditional owners of Dirk Hartog Island, the Malgana people, to engage in the ongoing management and conservation of the region."
Management of the national park will include sheep and feral goat removal.
...........
so you very limited to what you could do and have to get all parties to agree ( and we know that never happens easily..:-( )

What a deal give back the title to the island and claim 30ha of land on the southern end. Now dividing that in 4 freehold titles and flocking them off at an estimated $10M each. One has been sold that I know of, crazy!
Quote the West Australian "An eco-resort, with up to 33 accommodation units plus manager and staff facilities on the site was likely to get planning approval".
Its a shame, half the fun in going there is the reward for effort. Gotta love those massive tailor!
