Great help from BCF in Busselton
Just thought id post up my experience of great customer service at BCF in Busselton last Saturday.
Night before i broke the screw on my GME antenna for my boat(that allows it to be raised or lowered) so was stuck with a non functioning radio and didnt really want to head out with it in that state from a safety and a fines aspect. Was my own fault was a bit stiff/stuck so just got some multi grips out, and yep snap. OOps :O
Thought being so close to Chrissy my only chance in Busso was maybe BCF for getting a new screw as the rest of the antenna was fine. Well got down there to find out they dont sell spare screws but they could order one, but it probably wouldnt arrive till after New Years. Not good i thought considering i planned to head out the next day. So i was looking at the prospect of buying a whole new antenna assembly for $74.95, all because of one broken screw. Would have sucked to have to re-run the wire cable for it too.
But just then the manager saw what was going on and came up and said, its all good and they'll just pull one off a new antenna and give it to me FOR FREE, and that they would order a new one and put it back on whenever it would arrive. Couldnt believe my luck! Got what i needed and for free. My old antenna was already out of warrenty but probably would have been anyway even if under 12 months as you could see the multi grip teeth marks on it.
So just remember the bigger chain fishing stores arent all bad, sometimes they can be exactly what you are looking for.

Good on you!
What a top bloke for taking the time during this crazy festive season to share your experience and give thanks to a small gesture like this.
For what its worth, I'm the manager of BCF Busselton and cannot express how proud it makes myself and my team feel when people go that extra bit to say thank you for helping them out.
I've worked and managed both small and large Tackle/Camping retail stores. It doesn't matter how big or how many in the chain, its the people in the stores!
Its customers like yourself that make us want to do that bit extra! I wish their was a lot more!
Good on ya Buz!

Hahaha small world!!!
No worries Chris, guess it was you who helped me after the young fella i was talking to originally came and grabbed you?
Thanks heaps again mate, saved me alot of time and hassles, and saved a day out on the boat for me too!
Toatally agree with you on Tackle Stores mate, it comes down to the individuals who work there that make or break great customer service. I dont live in Busso anymore but did growing up there, and get down there as much as i can nowadays to visit my Mum and get out for a fish. Have been into your store a fair few times in the past, but just for basic stuff i knew that i needed(bait, burley, hooks, etc), but was absolultly chuffed with your level of service to me this time i needed some help also considering you guys where flat off your feet that day!!!! Crazy pre Christmas.
Oh well now i know who you are, next time i am in i'll ask for you so i can thank you and your staff personannly.
Thanks again, Buz.

in all honesty I very rarely
in all honesty I very rarely shop at the bigger chain stores... but saying that since i was introduced to LC I have been more than happy to spend my coin in his store. I will continue to do so as long as he is there. Busselton BCF is honestly lucky to have him.

Not the 1st time for BCF
I had a similar experience at BCF Joondalup back in August. I usually hesitate to shop at stores like BCF to try and support the smaller ones because I would hate the day when they aren't there anymore!! Anyway I needed a part for my secondhand reel that I had bought and was short of time and the manager came and spent all the time needed to try and sort my issue out. He led me out the back and went through lots of gear to find what I needed and he ended up giving me extra bits that were useful and didn't charge me a thing for any of it!! So I stocked up on bait and a few other things as well and needless to say I have been back in there quite a few times since!! I can't remember his name but he was a top bloke!!
Burley it and they will come.

+ 1 for LC and the BCF busso crew
BCF Busselton were under the pump big time over the christmas period! even though there were some pretty grumpy tourists around in the stinking hot weather, the staff were a great help and extremely knowledgable. One of the blokes was pretty clued up on deep drop techniques and jigging and was happy to try and point us in the right direction to find some nannies. Appreciated the advice very much.
We also found bait was scarce (most places had sold out of mulies, including BCF). The bloke from BCF was happy to tell us which servo had the last remaining bags of mulies. Didnt benefit BCF in any way by telling us to go elsewhere so i thought that was awesome.
Good work Busso Team!

BCF Busso
Looking forward to catching up early Feb Chris (Off Dhuty).
Good to finaly see some positive feedback re a local tackle store down your way since the store that was once where the Reject Shop is closed down (Name evades me at the moment).
Ranger Camping was good for info and specials first time we called in but over the year or two they were operating both declined :(
Hopefully we will get the same service Buz did... even if just some local info ;)
Cheers,
David

Looking forward to it David! Always happy to take 5 and have a chat about the one that got away!
And you guys are spot on with Ocean to Outback. Great store- Worked there alongside Rusty till he closed up. Now he's living the dream up in Exmouth at Steve Riley's store. Abundance of knowledge between those guys for anyone heading up!
As for the online shop tank, We have set up 'click and collect' which gives you great deals on products sourced from the closest BCF store then posted straight to your door!
Cheers again for all the positive feedback fella's- We'll do our best to go that bit extra! (the way it used to be!)
Tight lines!!!

BCF Hedland?
If Karratha were to get a BCF, Port Hedland should get one to. Our population is about the same if not slightly bigger. Lots of boat owners here, plus people with 4x4 who go camping. Fair is fair..lol
I'm here for a good time, not a long time. Lets go fishing!

500km round trip
I guess if I was willing to drive a 500km round trip to Karratha just to get some KFC, then I would seriously consider a trip to visit BCF. Then again, id prefer to have a store in Hedland. All that driving means less fishing. Karratha already has a highrise appartment, KFC, Adventure Sports and a dust free town. Let Hedland have something. Afterall we are the biggest tonnage port in Australia.
I'm here for a good time, not a long time. Lets go fishing!

Off dhuty, go to midland
Off dhuty, go to midland store and train them up. They all seem to scatter when you look at the staff. Asked the manager there about VHF radio licence and he told me to go home and do my homework as he wasn't a consultant. So I did and bought online. If I'm down your way ill pop in give you my business.
It's not about the getting, it's about the doing.

My son is coming to visit
My son will be in town in a couple of days and will call in...I told him to mention 'fishwrecked' He is a bit p'ss'd cause he wanted to stay up here chasing Barra...maybe you could suggest he goes to Bunnings to get a Barra...this year? Tell him dad said...lol
He wants a heavy hand line to try for a mulloway apparently....goodness knows what else o a tackle box I think cause we packed all his hooks and lures in his rod tube to fly down o and some sinkers...
Anyway I know you guys will look after him...you will recognise him he looks just like me the little bugga...lol
Rusty a top bloke...time for anyone...as long as they are doing the rightee...heard he's catching photos these day to sell (in his spare time)...some good shots from what I've seen...top bloke!!
