Hey everyone one week away before I head up to coral bay and chase some awesome fishing and relaxation time drinking beer

was wondering if anyone has had any luck chasing big Gt's on the reef no asking for spots unless your very nice and give us one or two but just putting it out there as I would love to land one

cheers

Sure. Quite a few gt's down that way behind the reef. Saw some old slide pics of blokes chasing them in the mid 80's on penn spinfishers and 15kg mono.

Haven't chased them in coral bay but have found a few not far north of there, so would say they are deff around around there! Just find some likely looking ledges and have a cast!

certainly in with a chance!

Have seen them while spearing right on the back of the reef and there are allways plenty of juveniles caught off Mauds landing so they are there. But have not heard of many being caught on a line. But it would be worth chucking a surface lure as close as you could get to the back of the reef. Only problem is you need to then get them away from the reef and noah's.
