Actually I want to know what
Actually I want to know what smoked him big time. I didn't realise that bit of water held big fish, but what ever took his lure took off at a very, very high rate of knots! The line was actually cutting the water and throwing a spray. I was driving by and could not stop due to traffic.

There has been some unusual
There has been some unusual captures in there alfred, as well as inside the Port areas.
Could be a injured fish of any description holding up in shallow water to heal but more than likely I think a Ray or a Bull Shark. Believe me there are plenty of Bull Sharks in the Collie and Preston rivers so it wouldn't surprise me to find one sitting in that stretch of water.
