Japanese Jig Rod

The latest in Nano techonolgy , Nano carbon , incredible sensitivity yet insane lifting power .

These are an outstanding PE 1 to 2 (10 -20lb) jig rod that has been built to run with  spinning reels

We have team them up with shimano FJ5000 stradic spin reels running 10lb to 20lb braid and they have performed beautifully jig and being HMG carbon they are also very much at home flicking lures and soft plastics

Being built from IM7 carbon they are fast taper high response jig rod

I bought one of the 6"0

Mon, 2014-07-14 17:04

I bought one of the 6"0 Shorty pe1-3 hamchi rods a few weeks ago but ended up sending it back because the actual size was 6"5 and wanted a shorter jigging rod. So if you do order one ask what the actual measured size is first because they differ to the advertised length. Apart from the length issue I wasnt overly impressed by the rod. There were no markings or text on the blank to state what the rod and specs were. Only a sticker that had been stuck on there. From this Im guessing they just import generic rods from China and then brand it with their own stciker once here. For what they go for I would spend a bit more and get something better.

Hamachi Tackle Japan

Mon, 2015-10-05 18:31

I know this is an old topic, however we thought we should clarify comments made here as from time to time we receive a few emails regarding it and more recently a couple of new customers had mentioned the post as it has

caused confusion and we also wanted to thank Rob b for the postive comment, Rob I will send you a PM as Hamachi has offered to supply you FOC with one of the new PE 1-3 Zenku's , as couple of people had mentioned your comment had ensured that looked further into the rods

We appreciate the comment was "guessing", so no hard feelings, however to clarify, Hamachi are not generic Chinese rods,  Hamachi's full name is Hamachi Tackle Japan with the english website here www.HamachiTackle.jp

They currently build and design a range of 73 jig / spin / popper rods from mid level rods through to "jewellery finish" works or art , not all rods are available worldwide (eg some are built specifically for particular markets JP, EU or US)

All rods are built on hand rolled and hand finished blanks and may vary a very small amount in length, eg 6 foot model would be less than an inch in length as Hamachi see it far more important that rod meet the exact PE and jig

weight ratings with a snug butt or mid joint rather than and exact length

All genuine Hamachi rods since late 2014, have a holographic hamachi logo sticker with a unique serial number on it, that relates to the rods warranty (all retail purchased current models have a lifetime warranty) plus the Hamachi main label

with logos and model details that may or may not be epoxied over depending if finished rod weight is a critical factor (eg ultra light weight carbon rod)  , All nylon / composite reel seats are OEM spec with the Hamachi logo embossed

into them, along with many of the OEM spec guides

Hamachi, like other manufacturers have rods and other products finished in a number of South East Asian countries S.Korea, Thailand, Tawian, Malaysia etc

Country of origin (manufacturer) is determined by where the highest cost in the manufacturing process is incurred, generally the blank for good quality rods particualrly nano based rods

However Hamachi will only put "made in Japan" on rods entirely made in Japan, these are their top of the range jig rods that start $600 through to $1800 USD

Where many of Hamachi’s competitors will build a low cost rod or reel in China and add a small component or process in Japan and due to the very high labour cost in Japan , well exceeding the China costs they legally label it made in Japan.

Hope this clarifies the topic
