Hamelin bay fishing

Hi guys
I have planned my second trip to Hamelin bay in July l know its not the ideal time of year to go fishing in Hamelin bay but that is when it is the quietest last time l was there l managed to get some Herring, Whiting and Skippy off the beach but this time l am going to try and catch something bigger like tailor and maybe a mulloway and still be able to catch small species how far up the beach do l have to go as l don't really know the beach that well. Any tips or rigs l will have to use and will there still be some any salmon around.
Cheers

Should be the odd salmon straggler still coming through.
Best spots at that time of the year is towards the north end down towards Boranup rocks where the blue hole forms or in the gutters from Two rocks north.
Big winter skippy and tailor as well as the usual fat herring should be the main catch with an odd mulloway at night

 I've always found the best,

I've always found the best, deepest gutters run from the beach entrance north to the first sand point. Just north of that are shallow gutters that hold small schools of salmon under the whitewater. Just have to look closely. Should be a few salmon about. Plus all above mentioned species.

Lots of great spots in the area, north and south of Hamelin Bay.

agreed, some nice gutters along the beach. Just keep in mind with winter and the bigger swells a lot of the sand beach for driving on is washed out and will have to drive right up along the dunes to get down there.

This I find is the best time for gutter fishing, there are BIG shallow sand banks because the beach is eroded, you can literally walk out 100m in knee deep water in some areas, but if you find a gutter, or even better a hole leading out to the deep water, prime fishing!
