Gday all - gonna camp at shelter bay with 4 mates and 2 boats in a few weeks. Just wondering if anybody on here has been there recently and can give a report on what the fishings been like lately (reef bashing and mackie trolling) Also would like to have a crack at goldbar as none of us have ever caught one - what starting depths should we look at ?150m? 200m? or more? cheers dave

Was there about 2 months back, report here.
Weather was pretty average though

The older you get the more you realize that no one has a f++king clue what they're doing.
Everyone's just winging it.

Steep
Was there last week. A few makkies around, we found north up the island produced the most.
Bottom bashing out in the 70-80s was very productive. Also only lost a couple of fish to sharks which was a pleasant change.
