Submitted by rodkarr10 on Mon, 2013-10-14 12:49
Does anyone know where I can buy heat shrinkable connectors, both red and blue, and splice and ring.
I have found a few places on the web that do mail order however would like something local in Perth so as to be able to get what I need when I need.

You can try any of the auto
You can try any of the auto stores. Even BCF has some. I think they carry the narva ones that are an all in one waterproof sort of thing. Just requires heating from memory

Depends on what you are
Depends on what you are after. For butt joining the best option is soldersleeves, heatshrink with a ring of solder in it. These are not cheap and a little hard to come by. You will have to hunt around a lot for them but will do probably the best job of joining and sealing.
If you are only after glued heatshrink any of your normal electrical suppliers will have that.

HiWhat do you mean by splice
Hi
What do you mean by splice and ring ?. I know of the connectors that are glue lined and have a low melt point solder and a very high shrink ratio. Great for one to one connections.
How many do you need of each color, I might be able to get these at just over 1$ each in packs of 10 (I am North of the river if you need them)
Cheers

What are you using them for,
What are you using them for, might be better off just using normal type auto connectors (and soldering them), much cheaper as well.
Most of the sealing ones don't always seal out the water and then once water gets in - it holds it in and the result is they corrode quicker and it also hides the corrosion from being spotted before problems arise. the normal auto connectors dry off and don't corrode as much as a result.
If you really need to seal it see if you can find something called Liquid Electrical Tape (try whitworths or any decent marine store) - it works much better at sealing wiring.

Wouldn't bother with the above connectors better off soldering and cover with dual wall heat shrink which has expoxy resin in it. Buy it by the length job done.

Cov's in Belmont knew what i wanted and although they had none in stock were able to source for me within 4 hours. Great coustomer service
I used http://www.narva.com.au/products/browse/heatshrink-terminals and while they are not sloder terminals they did the job i needed.
I might ad that they are not cheep, over a doller each for the splice connectors and around 80 cents for the rings.
thanks to all those that posted info

I prefer self almalgamating
I prefer self almalgamating tape for my electrical connections, especially if they are exposed to the weather.
