Shore based - KG's, salmon,
Shore based - KG's, salmon, mulloway and snapper in the surf next to reef. I have also run into some very big kingies off the shore or occassionally around some of the jetties.
Small boat- KG's salmon, trevally and sometimes mulloway and snapper in the right spots.
Boat 15ft plus alll of the above plus snapper, kingies, sampsons and bluefin (kingies and sampson more so in march /april and bluefin late dec through to April.
Lots of KG's and salmon in winter - Both average to very large in size this time of year.
I assume your shore based if asking re surf beaches so best bet is if you have the time head west approx 100km to penong and turn south to Pt Sinclair. local jetty is good but some big salmon off the cliff out past the end of the cactus surf break (any of the local surfies can point you in the right direction) 15-20 metre cliff - 10 foot ledge at the bottom then straight down into deep water. Big salmon and snapper here. another 80 kn west of this is Fowlers bay (can get accom there cabin or on site van) and head to nearby Scotts Bay - big Salmon and mulloway there. Can get close to the western end in a coventional car and walk the rest.
Closer to Ceduna the local jeetties are good and have heard good things about the creek mangrove area at denial bay. Good jetty fishing for squid and KG's at Smoky bay 3/4 hour south of ceduna too. Thevanard and local jetty in ceduna can be ok.. Over there its just a metter of being in the right spot at the right time and anything can come along. I have seen some massive kingfish at the western end off scotts bay about 20 metres from shore and have also seen a few smaller ones near the local jetteis on the west coast of SA .
Hope that helps and good luck
Cheers Paul
