Hey Street, There is a company called Downers wich as I understand is a company that does major electrical construction. Power stations ect; They do a lot off work for Alcoa Pinjarra and other sites down south. Might be worth giving them a call and seeing if they have anything going for an apprentice.I have a mate that has worked for them and says there really good to work for. Good luck.

Gday mate

I am a sparkie by trade mate who has also worked within the mining industry (7.5 years underground and 1.5 years surface). Still retain some of my contacts from my time at various mines. If you were looking in that direction.Unfortunately I am in the process of starting my own contracting company and not in the position of hiring yet (damn if you were looking at the end of the year I might have been looking to put an apprentice on).An option you could look at mate is a company called EEGAS which hires on electrical apprentices (then these in turn are hired out to various companies throughout the metro area as well as within WA country as well). If you want to have a chat let me know and I will PM you my details and I will see what I can do for you.Whatever you end up doing make sure that you finish your trade (ya seem very keen to do so)because as you are aware it will open a whole new world for you.

Cheers OX

keep me posted about your new buisness too mate.
spess,
i work in big workshops gonians, rcr tomlisons etc, my area is fixing gensets and welders but do everything else as well, so my 3 phase knowlage is good and so is the 240. i am also good with fault finding. i dont do house bashing, well only for a cashie. lol.
what is your business in the swan valley? and how far from warwick?
the main reason i am looking to go fifo is for the money and the tax
breaks. trying to get away from metro work hate peak hour travel etc etc
if nothing happens with the other guys ill ask you again thanks matey
cheers for the responce guys i have been getting the run around from most big companys, even apprentiship board is giving me the run around!

Hey street, who or how did you do your mature age apprenticeship??
Did you do it through an apprenticeship placement company or organize it yourself?
