You might find the red neck no good
Happy to be proven wrong, but it just looks too small , with the neck too far forward, in my experience. We have just been talking about this in another thread, with hezzy, who builds them, good catchers by all accounts.
have a look in this thread, fair bit about the ins and outs from people's experiences. fishwrecked.com/forum/craypot-types but, you never know, could catch you afeed for all your work. Pine does need some soaking from new, get rid of the resin smell before they catch, IMO. Normally takes a few days.

yeah have been reading other thread. But have heard you can't add photos so did this one as the photos show the pot. The second pot with no bottom is in the water has been catching not much though but i don't really think it's the pots fault. I will be putting the one with the red neck in on the weekend i was thinking of making more this size as i seem to be too weak to pull 4 as big as the other

You can add photos to another thread
You just need Ninja skills ( and a photo hosting site )
When you want to photobomb someone elses thread, click on Disable Rich Text at the bottom of the box. Then do the link from your photo hosting site as HTML, rather than Photo. just copy and paste it into the thread,.
just a word on the slat necks. I reckon they work well in smaller pots like yours, but definitely better as sloped in. You need to cut the frames at an angle so the slats you nail to it will slope inwards. This makes a difference for any pot. Or just cut wedges of timber to fix to the existing frames for the same effect.
