Woodmans point is a good ramp

allways a few squid in Cockburn sound and is prob the best sheltered most of the time for a small boat if you don't want too much chop for your pop.

could venture to 5 fathom bank and p/u something decent from there if he feels up for it.

I went out behind Carnac

I went out behind Carnac Island last week and bagged out on big fat whitting in less than an hour.

Was due west of the island in 20 m of water between the island and the 5 fathom bank.

launched from Woodman point.

 If you're not familiar with

If you're not familiar with the area then I probably wouldn't go to Five Fathom Bank or behind the islands for that matter because of the unknown reefs that many boaters get caught up with. Plenty of squid in the sound, drift over the weed beds with a bit of sand around. Try parmelia bank they will be there. You can get herring, skippy and garfish (too bony for me though) near the mussel farm (northern tip of Garden island); burley is the key. Whiting and the odd KG can be caught from Parmelia bank, and also in sand patches closer to Carnac Island.

Woodman point is fairly protected, lots of ramps, decent parking and the sea rescue cat gets launched from next door at CPBA just incase shit happens.

Good luck mate
