I don;t know if I would want to be carrying that sort of stuff on my phone, in case the missus accidently pushed the wrong button and got a bit of a surprise.
You know I still have a firm foot in both camps, but I can't resist sharing the observation that there appears to be consistently more registered users online here than at another popular WA site.
Keep my eye on the 'other' popular sites here in W.A. Having a friendly community of good blokes that enjoy there fishing is also a great draw card. Cheers guys!
Underneath Strike Zone is your user points Street, I'm on 336 and soon on the score board. :)
Well, only having run for a year the best month has been:
Unique Visits No. of Visits Pages Hits Bandwidth
Jun 2006 3054 8627 119009 382830 27.18 GB
Febuary was the best before then when Honsu's jigging video was released, you wouldn't believe how successful the word jigging is in search engines.
This month is set to blow the rest of them out of the water. Also helps that I'm studying promotional marketing 2 this semester for the last unit of my degree, along with studying search engine optimisation techniques on the side to help get things moving along.
Today's views are going to take some serious beating thou:
Busiest day so far 9 August 2006

Scared for people that haven't logged in for a while, going to be 12 gazillion comments for them to view. Oh well, will make for some interesting reading. :)
Yeah I have been leaving links for Fishwrecked all over the USA sites I frequent, and they are really excited about the jigging we are doing here in WA , the best of jap technology in a language they can understand .
FWA lost the plot with their upgrade I recon , pic posting is a major drawcard on here for me , without having to go to links etc and the VIDS are excellent , going forwards in leaps and bounds here Adam .
I'm about to make up a jigging video for promotional purposes on youtube and google video using some of the stuff from last year. I will post it up when I have finished it. If anyone's got anymore that they don't mind me using, then please let me know.
And cheers for the kind words Mav. I hope I can make this site as fun and informative for you guys as it is for me. I get great satisfaction out of knowing that this helps others, be it finding a buddy to go out with or talking tackle, whatever it be, the focus is enjoying each other's fishing experiences in a friendly environment.
I have some vid on DVD , not much at the moment , and can let you have a look at it if you want , can burn it to DVD for ya , just some home movie type stuff but it's got some nice fish on it , let me know if you want a look , can burn and post it today / tomorrow if you think it will help , got some good line scorching runs on it .
All on NS2 , some language may need to be edited over tho .
I'll need a ADDY to send it to .

Looking forward to it Adam, I love all the jiggin vids here at fishwrecked!
One day I'll come down to perth and I'm gonna go out wide and jig up some big sambos ;)
Pm on its way Mav. :)) Yep, you gotta do it one of these days Jay, starting pumping the weights before thou, you'll need the stamina and the strength to bust into double figures and beyond. Boy do they hurt you sometimes!
I reckon in a couple more years I may get dead sick of sambos... but until then, its lovely to have them so close by and easily targeted, sort of like 'kindy for jiggers', lucky that.
I'd love to jig the north, for spanglies, sweetlip, long-nose, all sorts of snappers, rankins, reds, amberjacks, yellowfin tuna, and my dream, a massive doggie.
I'm definately gonna give it a go Kasey but I really don't know much about jigging, the techniques and what jigs I should be using. I'm also not sure how productive it is compared with other methods like bait.
hmm, vids should give you a clue.. but I agree, its hard to visualise, unless you have someone to help you/show you. It could be more productive than bait, as you are searching for fish, isntead of the fish searching for you, and as compared to bait, the hit is HARD, because with bait (dead) sometimes they pick pick at it, with a jig, to the fish its alive, so *WHAM* thats the excitement for me anyway...
Took me a while before I accepted why/how a fish could be so dumb as to hit a long shiny piece of metal... (it actually doesnt have to do with the fish's lack of IQ)
Wish I could come up someday and catch up for a fish ;)
Me too Kasey, it'd be good to me meet up with some of the Fishwrecked crew ;) It's hard being so far north lol
The jigging definately sounds eciting, when I move over to Karratha I'll make sure I get some jigs a give it a bash. Is there any jigs you could recommend? I understand it's a bit different down there than up here but something that's a bit of an allrounder maybe?
River to sea sea rocks are a good starter jig and comes in all sizes up to a massive 500g .
Any meatal lure can be jigged tho , even the humble 65 g raider , just remove the treble and put an assist hook on or tie a hook to some 100lb leader and tie it to the top eye of the lure just use a hook that is wider than the lure .
Drop it to the bottom then sweep the rod up fairly quickish then wind in the slack on the down stroke then sweep the rod up again , keep going till it hits the surface , we run a fairly long leader so the knot hits the rod tip before the lure launches out of the water and smacks someone in the head .
I had the embarassing experience of being distracted last time I jigged and proceeded to do exactly as you described. Knocked the top of my rod off and narrowly missed pinging myself in the side of the face.
If only I had of tied a long leader, I might have saved a rod and my embarrasment.
D V D is burnt and will be on it's way tomorrow , hopefully you can pulla bit of footage off it , only put 40 mins or so on it as thats all I had on the tape .
I should get hours more soon , I allways take the movie and still camera out but rarely take the camera's out of the bag unless there is something special happening .
BUT , I'm going to make an album up on all the stuff from NS2 so will be doing more now with the camera's .
I didn't really worry about leaders etc untill venturing out with Al jigging , now I tie leaders onto everything I fish with .
We generally run around 4 to 6 m of 100lb Penn 10X leader on the 80 lb braid , no special reason for 10X cheap and good is about it , the surecatch leader is good but a bit thicker than the Penn but more clearer than the penn10X , I don't think that really has any benifit out there when you can have 5 people hooked up at one time EVERY DRIFT over the school of fish tho .( you will see it on the DVD Adam) , maybe I should save this info for the Jigging forum .
Like kasey said jay, the excitment of jigging can be mind blowing sometimes it takes little effort and then exuasting at times. the fish hit the jigs so hard its awesome. once you get your first fish on jig u will never look back.
you could jig for any species up north and iam starting to see the same rule applies down here enjoy.
cheers bolts.
