I got on the forum this morning expecting to see pics of fish caught and tall stories ,how did you all go, or was it not worth talking about from shore it didn't look to bad i would have thought heaps of boats would have gone out .

saturday
headed out saturday morning from gero to try couple of new and couple of older spots bout 13mile out with spooled and flagpole... snapped the transducer off on the way out (dont ask how) so was fishing blind the whole day just going to marks and doing drift after drift... came home with 2 groper 2 good pinks 1 big red throat and a good size spangled that flagpole got on plastic a first for him and a nice way to do it. wish we had video as flaggy got done by a very good fish in the reef. while attempting to put wat brakes he had on the little pfluger on the line gave way and the rod smacked him in the head! hilarious.. also got the usual undersized dhuies pinks and got onto a patch of 4-5kg sambos that just followed us for a whole drift.. very hard work but fishing blind but not bad result considering

No good
Had a look at flatrocks , some nice deep gutters along the beach ,but no joy with the fish. I found three FISHWRECKED members and a lot of other people out getting their fishing fix.

No Fish Dammit
Great to catch up again Stu. I agree, I have been eying that spot for a while. I am sure it will work well when the fish finally decide to play the game. My last few outings up there have produced very little really which is disappointing. Maybe when the weather settles down and we get some warmer weather things will pick up again.
Until that happens.... I shall persevere as all good rec fishers do.

Don't worry they will turn up soon.
Looks like I didn't miss out on too much in the way of fishing action.

I don't think the swell would of helped ,would have been crashing on the beach .still good to get a line in the water.

got out behind 3 mile reef at 15 knots and thought stuff this. wasn't going to plough all the way to the bank like that.
deckie was chucking up and i was hung over.
back home and hosed by 12
this weather sucks
If I spent half as long fishing , as I do reading this bloody forum , I'd be twice the fisherman I am.

Lol Paul, some of the bigger ones go pretty hard
I am going to test my home made lures out on them. Just have to come up with a way to make lures small enough.

Yea Paul , went out as i been haveing tranducer problem with my sounder , saturday looked average weather so i decided to go out with a heap of parts to rectify problem and carried out some sounding just behind the three mile, almost got rescued by the police boat during a squall as i was under the deck when they arrived and thought my boat was drfting around without a crew , all good after some explanations, fixed sounder and wow some good flat coral WPT 101 and loaded up with snapper, i had no gear except pliers and screwdriver , another boat arrived and got straight into them... Went to the same spot my
Went to the same spot my brother in law and I have been fishing for the past few weekends. Bumped into UNCLESTU sat morning and not much was happening so we went for a drive to check out some new terriotory and left my bro in law behind. the crazy canadian got one tailor, and the other regulars there got a couple. I went yesterday morning to battle the rains and it wasn't too bad, i ended up fishing 6 till 9 and came away with 3 nice 35cm tailor. The other guys next to me got 3 between two of em while i was there. Lowish tide and heaps of weed made it hard work for 3 fish, but eh, that's fishing right ;-)
