This is how fishwrecked boys do Jurien

Crushed, Goodz, Troy, Fisho-ron  decided to head to Jurien for a 3 day trip, with some great results.

Friday we got out at 11am and headed out deep, by 4pm we bagged out on pinkys and baldys with the largest pinky going to

troy at 76cm and i got the biggest baldy at 58cm.

shocking ride back in but all happy chappys.

saturday morn was shocking weather but we still braved it while many pulled the pin, at one stage we had a very large wave come over the front of the boat and were standing in 8" of water...little hairy.

it settled later and we were one fish short of bagging out again.

sunday goodz come out on my boat and the plan was for a short fish and back in early to pack up and head home, and what a day it was!!!!

goodz got a monster sambo 25kg plus and gave him a bit of curry.

then its mine, troys and karls turn to get into the fish with a tripple hook up on big mullas.

then mr goodz proves me wrong again on the jigs with the biggest mulla going his way, by now it was 10am and time to leave the mullas firing, ended up with 6 mullas, goodz got the biggest measuring at 118cm.

all in all we had a great weekend and also met grazee and his mate up there as well.

not to bad considering we went up there with no marks in the gps at all!!!

cheers

Good trip up boys. Cheers for letting me come aboard yesterday Ron (I had fished the 2 days before on another mates boat). Great morning sesh and good to crack the mulla on jig finally. That sambo certainly gave me some curry on the PE3 gear too. Must send a shout out to poor Crushed and his misfortunes on the day... Haha

Great work on the mullas - the Jurien mullas havent played ball for me yet. Guess I better get back up there and keep trying!

When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:

n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or

n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

Great report and trip

Mon, 2012-05-21 19:29

Thanks again for the invite and organising it all Ron. Weather worked out very well other than Saturday which certainly made for an adventure. Cheers Ben, shame but I guess it will just make it that much more special when it does all happen. Watching the fight and that sambo come over the side was incredible as was the monster mulla. It was also really helpful to see how you worked the jigs and that they actually can produce just as well as bait. Hope I didn't bring it all down being a sad a*#e at the end of the day :) I did feel a lot better when I was no longer the only one to catch the spinning stainless steel fish behind the boat.
Look forward to doing it all over again soon.

no probs mate, was all good

Mon, 2012-05-21 19:48

no probs mate, was all good fun, even the the line in the prop wasnt that bad.

sat big wave over the front was the worst thing for me, but like i said, mostly my fault for backing the power off to save a real hard hit.

at least i know the boat can handle a few hundred litres pouring in and then going out the self draining decks...lol

i would of liked to stay sunday night and have a big one on the turps though.

cheers

Yeah mate few drinks at the end of it all would have been great way to wrap it up. Especially after we found out Grayzee was there too. Never mind, will just have to do it again. ha ha.

I didn't see the big hit coming or the water come over the bow and the water was gone from the deck by the time I looked back.

You were probably damned what ever you did in that situation.

Yeah true it does prove how much the scuppers can flow.
