how long do you give a spot?

I was having a chat to allrounder the other day about this

let's say you pull up over a good mark , fish showing.

how many  drifts do you give it before heading off,  if you're getting  no interest from anything good??

If I spent half as long fishing , as I do reading this bloody forum , I'd be twice the fisherman I am.

No interest at all then maybe 2 drifts.. A little interest maybe 3 or 4. Always up lines when we are off the ground too and reset the drift. I hate drifting for miles over nothing.. Even if the odd good fish does get caught over nothing.

It's a definate quandry and you're Brucesta. Prime fishing time is the word. We tried just about every depth and spot i had on the GPS on Saturday apart from the deeper ground as the wind stopped us from going there. It was basically 20 mins per drift then off. What more can you do?

its a hard one, was out

its a hard one, was out yesterday on a very productive lump, usually holding dhu's, pinks and baldies.

Fish EVERYWHERE, im fairly confident a school of piinks holding up.

First drift resulted in 1 undersized pink, and a pink of about 4ish KG's dropped on the side of the boat.

After this do you think we could tempt them!! got one BB off this spot from about 2 hours. (adjusted the drift over the lump each time, as its a biggisg lump!).

Normally i would have moved on to the next lump but it was as rough as guts yesterday!
