How to remove hydraulic steering mount question?

Hi guys
I am having issues with water ingressing into the pod which my Honda 135 is attached to, there is a hatch on top of the pod which a marine company re siliconed however there is still water getting in weighing down the back of the boat. QUESTION? without having to lift the motor off I thought of taking off the hydraulic steering arm (see photos) there is a nut on either side of the arm however it appears when I turn the nut the other side turns I suppose I will need to get a mate to hold the other side with a wrench? has anyone ever removed one of these? & lastly if I remove the hatch & clean off the old silicone what is the best method to seal the hatch , any comments or advice appreciated . Yep. And they can be frozen
Yep. And they can be frozen on pretty good too.
Will usually need a solid hit with a hammer and a long drift to knock that cap off.
Does anyone know where the love of god goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours?

Undo the grub screw on the plastic nut and I think that frees up a bit of space....
It has been a couple of years since i put mine on and thought that there was very little connecting part A to part B.

Hydr steer
Look up the make/model and look on YouTube for install video and do in reverse.
If the unit moves up and down then the rod through the pivot tube(on the outboard) should just pull out.

I would fibreglass the hatch
I would fibreglass the hatch in if your boat is fibreglass. get it welded if its ali. You can always cut an inspection hole in it
