Try some fresh Tailor fillet

Thu, 2007-10-18 17:54

Try some fresh Tailor fillet when you catch on there! Make sure the Tailor is 30cm before you fillet it. But yeah, fresh Whiting is killer bait as well also try Yellowtail, Scaly Mackerel, Slimey Mackerel anything smelly and hardy! =]

Jas try catch a few herring

Thu, 2007-10-18 17:56

Jas try catch a few herring and use them for bait, Dont use them whole, wack a couple fillets off them and use a gang incase a small sharky or something comes by. You can get a few down that way.

Anyway good luck.

Jas04 welcome mate. All of

Jas04 welcome mate. All of the above is great info for you but ill add one thing and thats to keeep your bait off the ground! They will not take a bait laying on the bottom. Snelled hooks work best but add a cork to the rig so it floats up a bit and a running sinker is good as well down to a swivel to stop it. About a metre is the go. Large tailor strips are the go but you will get way more fish if you use livies. Yellowtail are good.

Keep it tight, reeeeeeel tight!

Observation City

Fri, 2007-10-19 10:01

You know were Observation city is. Head south towards City Beach and a couple of kms down there are the Brighton dog beaches. I would go there this time of year for a Perth Mulloway if I was fishing for them.
