Inflatable life jackets

Cant find anything in DOT regs regarding CO2 cannister expiry dates for inflatable jackets. Have visually inspected mine and they appear to be in perfect condition but the cannnisters have a date 0f 2011. Can anyone tell me if you are requred to replace them after a certain period of time allowing for common sence of course.

non commercial use = 12 month self check
Basically inspect straps, covers, check for punctures etc. With the cylinders just unscrew from socket, dont lose any little plastic bits and take note of where they come from. The cylinder has a thin foil type membrane on the screw end. Check this is not punctured. Another check you can do is weigh the cylinder - they should have a stamp on the exterior most are 33gram. Weigh it and check. Reassemble and you are good to go.

cannister doesn't have an
cannister doesn't have an expiration... the date on it is date of manufacturing...can do self test for first 2 years after that must be inspected by qualified tech... if you go to marlin pfd site you can get a list of places that do inspection on them. by memory I think there is 3 places in freo.
