Job Hunting - Give me something to laugh about... Before I cry!

On Friday I got made redundant by my Sydney based company. Downsizing and being replaced by a computer program. YAY! The job hunt this last few days has been painful. Im looking at job applications online and wishing I was a bloke. So many more options. Sux to be me! The only job I got excited about was a Skipper position with Top Gun and im not even qualified to do it. Lol. Now that would be living the dream.
Anyway im looking for a laugh so if you have any funny fishing stories (or a job for me) id love to hear them. Happy First Day of being unemployed to me! haha

On a serious note, i come from an events management background, so looking at anything project management wise or admin etc... Or a complete change of direction. :)

Plenty of work out there depending on skills. In the meantime go fishing and live on what you catch or starve depending how good you are.

Yep need to advertise yourself
Put your name in with every job agency you can i.e. Programmed/Skilled, Work Force, Hays etc. Keep an eye out for construction and mining jobs coming up all these jobs will not be just hands on work but admin roles as well.

Had that happen twice in my career
And whilst I was initially devastated it opened new doors and I finished up far better off and with massively greater job satisfaction. Remain positive and you will find something you want

I’m looking for something a little on the casual side, but my resume scares the crap out of prospective employers. A lot of things I just can’t do anymore. Can’t pass a muscular skeletal medical any more.

No, not that drastic, I’ve been kinda pidgeon holed for a lot of my working life, mining, refining, power generation and more recently OH&S. They think I’ve always been on big money and won’t work for anything else, which couldn’t be further from the truth.

im going to shark bay at the end of November with a few people camping and a lot of fishing for a week .... more than willing to join us ... as for job opportunity....
