Hey Jas, My only advice is that the largest jetty at Jurien is pretty good for decent sized tailor and sqid. The tailor are hooked from the north western end of the jetty. The squid are on the inside of the jetty, close in and under. You can also get nice flathead, whiting and cobbler there at night. Iam sure the others have some better spots - particularly as you have a 4wd, but the jetty is always a reliable spot - particularly if its too windy elsewhere or even if you just want to catch some nice fresh bait.
Good luck, Colin Hay

Sandy Cape

I have never been there but I hear Sandy Cape to the north of Jurien provides some prety good beach fishing if you have a 4wd. Get some nice tailor fillets and chuck them out there. You never know. Colin

ive always found that there is heaps more squid at the second jetty (smaller jetty), not much left of it now but we alway got atleast 6 or 7 in a hr or so..
always chuck outta a big bait if fishing off the jetty, bcoz 20kg+ sambos come cruising arounds those jettys in the summer time, bitta fun l/based!
if you wanna mulloway ive heard reports that theyve been at hill river atm, same with tailor! if you want some light tackle fun then grab some burley n go burley up n fish the marina mouth! always get good skippy (40cm ish) and tailor about the same size! we use plastics but im sure just about anything will work once there around..
pitty u dont have a boat...crays, dhus, baldys etc etc...awesome ground out there! but l/based is fun
god i love the place..
good luck

cheers

heh, we must have gone on a bad weekend...

we just got back from there, as you all probably know...

we stayed sandy cape, camped there, fished the beach, the cliffs and the otherside of the cape..

got into some tailor, herring and buff bream and wrasse.. no mullaway took the lines... i think dogsoldier had a small run but nothing major...

the jetty looked very unfishy due to the cray factory offal not being pumped out there anymore...

but yeah, the report that morning at the local tackle store was that good sized tailor were on the chew all morning, talking 60cm+ at "so they say" between hill river and sandy cape... but yeah, we didnt get any and we used softies, hardbodies, metals and bait...

was not the ideal conditions though, was blowing prolly 30+ knots the whole time we were there till early morning on sunday at which time, it was still blowing out but just not that bad.

I hear jurien rocks but haha that sorta killed my impression of it... maybe ill give it another try another time

My Angling club had feild day there weekend before last it was blowing a gale i got sand blasted and ticked.   Members that fished Hill River only produced Tailor, Herring, pike.  Members who fished Jurien had Skippy and 2 nice mullaway. No Mullas at Hill River.
