Blue Manna Crabs

Hi all - new to the site....Anyone know if the crabs are about yet in Mandurah/Bunbury? Also is there anywhere you can drop net or scoop without a boat for these tasty critters in the Perth metro?

Blue Manna's
Last year we had a bit of late rain which meant the fresh water kept them deeper for longer.
If we don't get late rain we should get good numbers in the shallows in Mandurah
for Scooping.
You can drop net for them on the traffic bridge in Mandurah (not the dawesville cut bridge)
I've never done it but have seen loads of people doing it while taking the boat out!
hope this helps,

a good mate of mine lives down there he said it has been a bit quite for them so far but if you like to scoop and don't have a boat i personally think behind miami caravan or the other side over near pinjarra are your best to places to give it a crack

leshenault estury
Matt if you want to scoop for crabs, the estury in Australind will start to fire up within the next month. Try behind the grand canals ,south of the collie river mouth On a rising tide. The pro's cant fish the estury anymore,so should be a good season again.

We tried last saturday in
We tried last saturday in the swan, shallower water seems at the moment, Think it's something to do with temp. Had no luck at blackwall, but did get a few closer in and further up the river.
