Jurien Bay

Hey all

I know its a real long shot but we are in jurien at the moment with the boat. We have searched for the last 2 days trying to find fish and only coming up with one size pinkie.

Would any one be able to point us in the right direction to find some fish. tomorrow is our last day so we just want to catch a few before we leave.

not asking for secret spots just a point in the right direction.

Cheers all.

If you dont know your ground inside then thats where you should head imo. Find the coral and you'll do well.

How'd you go today mate? Sorry didn't check back sooner to give you anymore advice. We were fishing on Seasport charters anyway so I don't actually have any spots but know that's where we were fishing.
We got our bag easy today and couldn't get away from the dhuies, caught over 20 atleast. Lots of baldies too.

cheers for the reply fellas.

cheers for the reply fellas. we only ended up with one good pinkie about 60cm long. we searched real hard in the 30's for 2 days strait. on the sunday mornin g we just went strait to the spot we got the pinkie as we where on a fairly tight timeline. we also pulled 2 undersized pinks a undersize baldie and a undersize dhu of the spot.

It was a real good couple of days even with the lack of fish. We spent the first day using jigs and plastics and didnt have bait on board so we couldnt just resort to that. the second day we folded and took bait.

The weather was awsome and we seen a couple schools of macks chopping up bait balls but they didnt want to take our lures and also seen a couple of marlin just free swimming wich was probably the highlight we followed them round for about 10 mins just watching them. SPECTACULAR is all i can say.

Caught a few small taylor of the jetty friday night and a 50cm bronzie on my 4lb bream rod so that was also good.

Good to hear you got a few at

Good to hear you got a few at least.

Next time I'd try deeper water. 40-55m seems to be the go up there (for me at least)

When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:

n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or

n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.
