Jurien with the Family
Just got back from Jurien last week.
A quick rundown of our progress:
Arrived Monday at around 2.30pm and it was blowing it's ass of.
Tues - 30knt NE & 4.5mtr swell. No boating today. Took the kids for a quick fish of the jetty and then a drive to Sandy Cape, back to the pub and then down to the marina for a dip. 43'C & steaming.
Wed -25knt ENE & a 3.9mtr swell. Went 7 mile out back. All 3 kids in the cabin spewin., Huge swell and only 1 under sized pinky to the boy.
Headed back in to the bay where the missus & kids caught 1/2 dozen good sized skippy, a few more under sized pinky's and a shit load of wrasse. (The kids had a ball)
Thurs - Me and my 2 boys went out. Covered 40mile with nothing too much to report. Pulled in a good sized Bronzy,a few pinky's & a couple of the biggest NW blowies I've ever seen. Best weather so far.
Fri - Went a couple of mile out the back of the islands and did some trolling. Nothing taking the lures. The kids went for a bottom bash for a few sambo's, a BA, and a few skippy. It was blowing like usual a f*cking hot.
Sat - We all went out again. Swell had dropped to 2.5mtrs. Fished with kids in 30mtrs for couple of pinky's & again skippy.
Got back to the ramp about 2 & a my old man & brother had just rolled up. Offloaded the missus and kids and headed out again. Went 19mile and drifted the craypots in 50mtrs. A few good sized baldies and a couple of pinky's . 3 undersized dhu's & 2 more bronzy's. Weather was the best of the trip. Got back to the ramp about 9.30pm.
Sun - Southerly blowing 30 - 35knts. No fishing. Went for a drive up to Leeman, Greenhead & then back through to Cervanties for a counter meal.
Mon - Still blowing it's ass of - Packed up and went home.
So in summary - Jurien is f*cking windy, but plenty of fish to be had.
The boys had a ball and the missus loved it as well.
Hopefully head back up after Easter some time.
Cheers

Ahh sounds like you had much
Ahh sounds like you had much the same experience as me!
I did it the wrong way round though. Didnt fish the saturday as thought it was too windy. Went out on the Sunday and got hammered by the wind.
Perhaps I should have gone out hte Saturday instead but certainly felt windier on Sat from the shore.
When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:
n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or
n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.
