boys - there is a story behind this mack and also a nice little (i'll post the dolly separately).
The bloke in the pic, an old salty mate of mine, caught these two fish on a 60lb hand line would you believe (hence the gloves).
We all went up with $$$$ of gear ready to do some serious work - he rocked up with a little box of gang hooks, half a dozen weights and two hand lines (plus a carton of the cold stuff....)
anyway all was going well some big hook ups on tuna and some good bottom fish but really bugger all compared to previous years - he just sat there and watched us mucking around with flashy lures and trolling big kms......he had a couple of shots at us like "is that all thats here now & im not convinced about those lure things & lets just go have a beer"
Then my best mate stood on a lure and got a treble from a CD18 in his foot, and whilst i took him to exxy hospital to get it removed, the other two blokes just hung around in the boat just outside the Tanta's channel waiting for us to return.
Old salty put a floating mullie our on his 60lb hand line about 50m off the back of the boat and bang a dolly; he continued to bottom bounce and did ok but another half an hour later - bang this mackie!

If I spent half as long fishing , as I do reading this bloody forum , I'd be twice the fisherman I am.

Nice bloody mack!
Nice bloody mack!
When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:
n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or
n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.
