Karratha billfishing???

Just looking for some info on where to start with bill fishing in Karratha, I hav done a lot of bill fishing in Florida and they use live baits. Do you use lures (skirts) in Karratha or pitch baits, are daisy chains helpful? Should I use outriggers? Any info is helpful. Cheers

Mostly sails around at the moment. All methods are pretty popular. Depends on what is happening at the time as to how effective it is. When the bait balls are around lots of guy sit over the top with live baits. When it's spread out they will tow baits or switch.

When I was there for work (two spearate occasions) I joined Nickol Bay Sportfishing Club

They're a great bunch of blokes who will give you some tips especially on the billfishing front, and they used to have educational nights going through how to rigs baits, etc

There is lots of great knowledge there; the fishing is unbelievable when it's on

As mentioned above, people like to run the option of using live baits as well as lures, including skirted pushers

For some reason everyone up there swears by pink, so I have a lot of pink lures & teasers now HAHA

King Bay Gamefishing Club is another option and I believe you may get access to a shack if you're a member (don't quote me on that one....)

head out along the pipeline and find some bait balls.  All options will work here.  You can collect live baits off the channel markers as you head out from Dampier

Pipeline in the 35m+ is always a good place to start. Still a fair few around, saw a 5 day pop up 2 weekends ago, all sails.
