kayak fishing

im thinking about going for a fish in the hobie in a couple of days, will be lauching from point peron and crossing to the back of garden island. i wont be going too deep just staying pretty close to to island, does anyone if its really worth while??or whats bitting there atm... cheers

 reports of big tailor shark mackeral and pinkies not far from the back of the island!! and the usual herring skippy whiting

Definately pack some squid jigs and some poppers as well. If you can get back of some of them reefs, worthwhile to chuck the popper at them for tailor or the odd small YTK. Been some seen swimming around with the herring.
