Kent street weir

My friends want to go kayak fishing in huge fresh water side of kent street weir. I know there are carp in there but are there koi or any other freshwater species that I can catch? What bait and rig would I use there?

Ive seen a couple of big ass
Ive seen a couple of big ass koi in there back in the day. Proper ones with the white, orange and black patches. Pretty sure they will still be in there somewhere. I had this plan to catch and sell them, but the "catching" part turned out to be a tad difficult.

Kent St Weir
On the fresh water side there are plenty of black bream and trunpeters, peeled prawn is the best bait I found, I've fished for the carp with bread and only caught bream, not 1 carp
