Anyone kow whose hull design these are based on? Assuming it's an old design, as there has really been nothing new for a long time.

Pacemaker

I was told that they come from the Pacemaker 21 mould. Ive always liked the Kingcraft. Nice boat from all reports. Apart from its slightly older styling, it would be in my list of boats to choose in the 21ft range.

Have a 2013 21ft

Bought 2nd hand. 200hp 4str 4cyl Yam after lloking for 6 months. Mine is a Westcat build - pretty sure they are out of business now. Heard they just build to order - small turnover.
The good: good ride in chop, likes to go fast, actually smoother at 30kn than 22kn. Fairly light at 2.2T half filled - was told it is all composite except the transom which is approx. 25mm marine ply. Very good finish and fitout. Good sounder readings for a glass with transom mount - sounds soft but have seen several boats with more holes that the bismark. Substantial kill tank wet plumbed.
The bad: rocks a bit at rest but ive been in worse - probably a tradeoff of the light weight. Front access to the anchor well is very poor - small hatch in cabin not nearly good enough to safely deploy anchor. Hard top stainless uprights not braced enough and cracked the welds. Built in poly fuel tank bigger than the hold it is in and therefore lets water into the hold and there is no drain point

Good ride

I have been out on one a few times and was impressed by the ride. The owner said it can be a bit rocky when on the anchor. The only bad things for me were the lack of a slop well but I think later versions have one and like mooseknuckle said anchor access is a shit fight and I am small.
