Land Based Fish/Feed This time of year?

Hey All,
I've managed to score the week off work () and would like to get out for a fish. I'm hoping to get something for a feed (whiting, Flatties, Squid, etc.). Given the weather I'm not looking to take the boat out until Friday (but Friday does look good!).
Could anyone give me some ideas as to where and how I could catch a feed? I live in Applecross so the closer to home the better but am willing to drive as far as Woodies (I've heard that there's still squid coming in down there, I caught a few off the boat around parmelia bank a few weeks back). I've also got a yak that I can take out if the weather permits.
Thanks all!

I was at Mindarie this
I was at Mindarie this afternoon and even with the easterly roaring, if you stay between the beach and the inside reef between the marina and the watersports markers just to the north it is pretty flat. Otherwise for boating you can wait for Friday (that's what I'm waiting for!). Plenty of sand whiting, flathead and squid if you fish the edges of the sand and rock/weed lines. Berley gently otherwise the rubbish finds you quick.
