Wonder if jigs work at night. Dunno if people use them in shallow ground, placcies work good tho. Maybe octo style jigs?????

I use berkley gulp jerk

Fri, 2012-09-21 11:04

I use berkley gulp jerk shads, in the pink shine and nuclear chicken, both glow, but these dry out when left out of their marinate. 1/4 to 3/8 nitro jighead weights in 10ish meter depths and 3/0 hook size for 5" shads and 5/0 for 7". These work good too, even if left in rod holder, fish will pickem up and when u lift, sets the hook. Even caught occy and cuttlefish on them! Flick the baits out, and work a placcie. Be good if bait companys sold cubed mulies imo

SP info for snaps!!!

Fri, 2012-09-21 22:36

Yo Johnny,

For snaps I like;

Z-Man 9 inch glow & pink grubs

Z-Man StreakZ XL 8 inch in Baby Bass & Smokey Shad ( Dark colours ) but Opening night for the brighter colour

7 inch Bullhead minnow in glow and pink

The key is to run a heavier jig head at that "area" like 1oz (yes sounds heavy) but twitch it on the bottom..........awesome

As for other areas i fish for snapper in the Sound ie broken ground and lumpy stuff I work lighter jigheads ie 3/8 to 3/4 and the same SP but twitch em up through the water column!!
