Learner driver question

My son is doing his drivers license and is on the log book stage. As he is doing a C class, can he cut out some of his 25 hours needed for his log book driving an auto?

I've looked everywhere for an answer to this and short of going into the traffic office and asking a cop, I thought I'd ask here first.

Cheers

Dale

Defiantly not, have to do the full 25 hours.

Hint: do atleast 27-28 hours incase they don't count some.

I just went through the whole process,

Howdy Callum, yeah, the 25 hours will be done easily, plus another 60 - 70 or so as well. My qusetion though was can he also drive an auto geared car even though he is doing a C class for manual car.

he still has to do the full 25hrs but they can be done in any c class vehicle, auto comes under c class as does manual, so yes he can do the hours in a auto even if he is sitting his manual licence, i split my hours betwwen 2 cars a auto and a manual and i didnt have a drama with it

imo. if your going for a manual licence you should learn in a manual car. how else are you suposed to learn how to drive a manual if you drive a manual.

One more thing, let us all know when and where your son is going to driving so we can park our cars up .

Good luck to him with it all

The 25 hrs should be and i think is changing soon to 50 or hrs but allows the leaner driver to be taught the variant of all diferent driving conditions , freeway , built up areas , side streets , night time and rain etc , so when he hands his log book in it should show all the dirfferent driving aspects
